Project Overview:
Bsurv was commissioned to design and deliver a dining room extension to accommodate an increased number of pupils, enabling the school to move from two dining sittings to a single sitting. The wider brief also included the provision of new toilet facilities, new changing rooms accessed from the main hall, the opening up of an existing corridor lightwell, and the creation of a new reception area.
Challenges:
• Delivering construction works within a fully operational school environment.
• Managing phasing, safeguarding, and health and safety around pupils and staff.
• Working to a tight programme with a quick turnaround.
• Ensuring full compliance with Building Regulations, specifically Part B fire and Part M accessibility requirements.
