Project Overview:
Bsurv managed the full redesign and re-roof of a pitched slate roof on a building located within a Buxton conservation area. The project involved updating the roof to meet current building regulations while carefully preserving the character of the property.
Challenges:
The roof required raising to accommodate additional insulation in line with modern building standards.
Roosting bats were discovered in the roof, necessitating careful scheduling of works around the bat season and the inclusion of mitigation measures in the design.
Works took place during school term time, so strict health and safety measures were essential to protect children, including designated walkways and risk management protocols.
Planning permission and building control approval were required due to changes in roof height.
Our Approach:
Our team managed every aspect of the project, including:
Securing planning permission and building control approval.
Coordination
Coordinating the timing of works to comply with wildlife regulations.
Health and Safety

Results:

The careful planning and expert management ensured the work was carried out efficiently, on schedule, and in line with conservation requirements.
