John Bold Avenue, Stoney Stanton

Our client’s brief was to create additional ground floor space to their existing three-bedroom detached home. Bsurv designed a single storey “wrap around” extension to create an open kitchen, diner and seating area to the rear of the property, along with a ground floor shower room and utility area to the side elevation. A contemporary extension design was produced to contrast the traditional 1950’s property exterior. Several internal walls were removed, and structural steelwork installed to create an open plan feel between the existing house and extension, including careful design to create a smooth flowing ceiling between new and existing spaces. Large bi-folding doors to the rear of the property create a sense of space into the rear garden during the summer months. Our services included preparing planning drawings, obtaining planning permission, preparing detailed design building regulations tender drawings, obtaining building regulations approvals and monitoring construction on site.
