Harwood Drive, Hinckley

Our client’s brief was to create an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area, to their existing three-bedroom detached home. A key client requirement was to create a first-floor balcony area accessible from both the master and guest bedrooms. A fundamental challenge on the project was to overcome the considerable level difference between the patio and lower garden area, which was addressed with the introduction of a gabion basket feature retaining wall. Large 6.40m wide bi-folding doors were included on the rear elevation, which in conjunction with flush level access between the internal floor and patio helped create a seamless link between both internal and external spaces. Our services included preparing planning drawings, obtaining planning permission, preparing detailed design building regulations drawings, obtaining building regulations approvals and monitoring construction on site.
